Thanksgiving Place cards and Layout by Phyllis Parkins

Phyllis Parkins a/k/a Mrs. Bosskut, wanted to make a few fast, last minute items you can make in between cooking, shopping etc. today.  The first project (above) are place cards for Thanksgiving using her Bosskut Gazelle and LaLaLand stamps.  Since time is an issue and hand coloring multiple times the stamps: Phyllis decided to scan her original stamp (already colored) into her Funtime program. Then, make a print n cut and cutting these out using her Bosskut Gazelle 3 pt Print n Cut feature. Look how the Gazelle cut exactly where needed!  The finished product of the stamps were 2.5 by 1.5 inches and perfect for her place cards! Great coloring Phyllis and what an adorable set of placecards.  Bosskut is having their Black Friday sale and LaLaLand stamps,Copic markers and other items are on sale at 25% off  http://www.bosskut.com/
Check the sale out!

THANKSGIVING BLESSINGS LAYOUT

Using the scheme selector tool in your Funtime Gazelle 3 Software

Have you used the scheme selector button on the bottom bar of your art board? It is the gray/blue icon with an arc over a small color bar. I have an arrow pointing to it on the above picture. I use this feature of Funtime quit often and even more so now I am using my Gazelle with the 3 point print-n-cut feature. For demo purposes, I am using a picture of the turkey napkin holder I made for Thanksgiving. I wanted to make a few more co-ordinated accessories for our Thanksgiving table. To use this feature:
Go to file and select import, jpg. Select the file on your art board. 2 Click the SCHEME SELECTOR icon on the bottom of your work area. It is between the Web icon and the rhinestone.
You will now have EVERY color in your color bar that is in the jpg you imported!

Why would you use this? I personally use mine to work on layouts and cards sometimes to get a visual before I actually make them. I can decide which colors look the best to me. Many times you will see colors in your color bar that you don’t even notice in your picture! Below are a few examples how handy this feature is to use.
I imported a wpc shape and now have color coordinated accessories. I am going to use these as placemats for desserts.
I am going to print n cut these but using the original cutter lines since this is a delicate piece. (Faster)

I am now going to go one step further and crop image to the file. VERY EASYTake your WPC file/shape and move it on top of the jpg. Click select.
Go to top of your Funtime browser window and select IMAGE. Go to CROP and then select personal path.
Click the file area and a pop up window will appear asking if you want to include region. Click NO
You will see a dotted line around the cropped area. Take your mouse and move file away from the original jpg.
This turkey file was designed by Lisa Smidt http://www.bosskutdiecuts.com/

I am now going to make some coordinating cupcake wrappers. File by Bosskut- Terri Mouw and available at www.bosskutdiecuts.com  You are doing the same thing as above. Personal crop feature under Image.
Before I can cut my wrappers and the turkey placemats, I need to click the wand feature and it will make my cut lines.
I now have my accessories ready to print and cut!  HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Fall Fun by Katie

Hey everyone!  Can you believe that Thanksgiving is this week already?!  I can't wait...Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday!  I can almost smell the turkey already.  ;)  With Thanksgiving being my favorite holiday it should go without saying that Fall is my favorite season.  Each year, my kids and I kick it off by visiting the Pumpkin Patch.  Here's a layout I created with a pic of my daughter from last year's visit...

I wanted to keep the background rather simple to bring more emphasis to the photo so I layered up some plain cardstock and added just a strip of pumpkin patterned paper to the bottom.  To break it up, I cut a bubble border using my Gazelle.  After mounting and adhering the photo, I tucked a little paper bag under the photo to house my journaling.  Next, I cut the Circle Florette and added a leaf and my mixed font title.  The two fonts I used are Clarendon Bold and Brush Script and both were found in my Funtime software.  A bit of bling and some "falling" Oak Leafs further embellish my background.  I cut a simple tag from Funtime for my journaling and tucked it inside my little paper bag.  Here's a close-up view of the journaling and embellies....

A little ribbon and cord finished my layout off.  I wish you and your family a blessed Thanksgiving.

AUTUMN SPLENDOR Layout by Debbie Grommet

For this layout I used the Oak leaf from Bosskut. I sized it to be about 3" tall.To enhance the leaves I used embossing powder on some , metallic rub-on chalk on a couple and sponged on some radiant rain mist on the others. It was fun to get in and get a little messy. I put a little burlap like fabric behind the leaves because I love the texture that ribbons and fabrics add. I also used a tag from Bosskut

Happy Thanksgiving Card

A card I made using my Bosskut Gazelle.  The pinecone design should be released this week!  So keep checking http://www.bosskutdiecuts.com/
A basic 4.5 by 5.5 pattern was used for the card.  I used my Gazelle pen feature with my glue pen inserted to write the title on my card.  My favorite glue pen to use is the Quickie Glue. I let my machine write on my card, then put micro glitter on it. I am a fan of Ritz Glitter and the burnish technique. I cut the delicate pinecone with basic cardstock and then colored in some highlights.
So I have my card ready, grandchildren's surprise from Grandma treat boxes, turkey napkin holder, and cupcake wrappers done for Thanksgiving. Time to start cooking??? I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving full of love, family and blessings!  HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Bosskut Distressed Turkey Napkin Holder

Bosskut Distressed Turkey Napkin Holder

Thanksgiving is 2 weeks from now and I am making a few crafts for the celebration.  I  really enjoy using this turkey pattern designed by Lisa Schmidt for Bosskut.  The pattern comes with a jpg file, which you can make a print n cut or cut by hand.   All patterns come in digital downloads  which contain all of the following formats: AI, WPC, GSD, Vector PDF and a jpg for reference.  Available at: http://www.bosskutdiecuts.com/distressedturkeybylisaschmidt.aspx
This is an easy and fast project to make!  In Funtime software:  Import the jpg Turkey pattern. Using the magic wand feature or outline feature, make an outline.  Make a mirror copy and move down about 2 inches. You will then draw a rectangle and add the the kiss cut lines for the crease to fold them. I cut my holder using clear craft plastic. I used the 007 wgt for mine.
I cut 2 of the outline base and the rectangle one in the craft plastic .  My settings on my BossKut Gazelle were 2 for speed, 4 for force.  I used sookwang double sided adhesive to attached this project together. After removing those, I then cut the same in cardstock to line the inside.  Attach the rectangle base to each side of the plastic and then tape the liner into place.  I then printed and cut 2 of the distressed turkey patterns.  Tape these to the front and back outsides. I colored on my turkey with my Copic markers but you can just use the printed version.  Project completed and ready for napkins! Sure to be a hit with my Grandchildren on Thanksgiving Day.
Happy Thanksgiving!

NOTE BOARD using CHALKBOARD VINYL

Holiday times are busy enough and who can’t use a little reminder once in a while?
I enjoy decorating, and made a cute “Note Board” for my fridge by using some adorable die cuts from Bosskut. Chalk board vinyl, no problem, Bosskut also carries this along with the chalk ink markers and so much more.  Bosskut sells the chalkboard vinyl by the sheet and it cuts with 1 pass on your Gazelle!  Be sure to check out www. bosskut.com for your crafting needs.

Here’s what I used:
1. Wooden board from our local craft store.
2. I used fabric paint and Mod Podge Glitter on the frame.
2. # 0890 Pumpkin Pie  http://www.bosskutdiecuts.com/

Enjoy!

Give Thanks Fall Layout by Judy Stark

This layout was so much fun to make! So easy to get creative with the great Bo-Bunny Fall line of paper, BossKut designs from http://www.bosskutdiecuts.com  and LaLaLand stamp. We will be releasing for purchase in a few days the beautiful Doily Mat designed by Phyllis Parkins and the Pine Cones with branches designed by me.

The adorable Pilgram boy is a newly released LaLa Land stamp. I colored him using my Copic markers and in case you don't know, Bosskut now sells these products under craft supplies at http://www.bosskut.com/  Check them out!

Other Bosskut Designs used are:

PopKut Sassy Bird : http://www.bosskutdiecuts.com/sassybirdpopkut.aspx
Oak Leaves: http://www.bosskutdiecuts.com/oakleaves.aspx

The "Give Thanks" title was made using my Bosskut Gazelle PEN feature. You don't need a special attachment to use this feature. Just remove blade and insert your pen or marker. I used a PrismaMarker which is quite large, but you can use a regular ball point pen if you choose. The pen feature is one of my favorite features on my Gazelle.
I then cut the flower design from another sheet of cardstock and applied in the bottom left corner. I glued the bottom and left side. I now have a pocket to put a copy of the CD of photo's taken during the holidays.
I made journal cards and will add descriptions on them.

An extra note:  The pinecones I cut with my Gazelle are .75 inches  to 1 inch in size. My Gazelle cut these intricute cuts with 1 pass!  I have had my machine 3 years and I even went "WOW" !

Grateful Wreath by Lori m.

I used my Gazelle to cut out the Grateful text and the turkey file from http://www.bosskutdiecuts.com/.  The file is #O857D distressed turkey. For the wreath a simple hay wreath from the Dollar Store and then I cut the material in strips and just tied it on. Simple, pretty, and just fun to make.

Enjoy, Lori m

Projects using Vinyl and Bosskut Gazelle

Finally after a long awaited time, I have the one living room wall where I"m happy with it.

The side scones are actually a mini knock off version of my Mom's Dining Room Light Fixture but I had trouble getting the design just right to show six lights so I just did three.
Sorry the lighting is bad at night but the text reads, Dreams..... where you can travel for free! There you have it from "Blah", to "Oh My".. to "I Really Like It"!
The inspiration came from my Mom's light fixture,  but I only have three lights, her's fixture has more.

Then using my Funtime program, the awesome Wacom our son gave me, a little tinkering and my file was ready to cut.  This was sized a little under 12x12 and then cut on my Gazelle.  The rest is easy.

I highly recommend using transfer tape and trust me you won't be sorry, it makes things a whole lot easier. Tape and vinyl are available at http://www.bosskut.com/

Enjoy, blessings, Lori m

This is Ryleighs notebook the soccer silhouettes are from pictures I of her on the soccer field. I used a sharpie to outline her and then scanned into my computer and imported into Funtime. It cut with no additional work. I have also cut these in 22 " wall stickers but they moved before I put them on the wall to a rented house while they a building a new one and she wants me to save them for the new house. Ryleigh tells me she has the coolest notebook and that her friends want me to fix theirs.

This year all fifth graders had to have an accordian file  but the girls did not like just the plain ones and all the cute ones were sold out so I fixed them up. This is the 0500 fifties flower and the font is Hobos

GIVE THANKS CARD by Katie

Hi friends, Katie here.  Did you know you can use Boss Kut's rhinestones on paper too??  You sure can!

After cutting/scoring my card base, I added a layer of crinkled kraft cardstock then got to work with my Gazelle.  First, I resized and cut the Circle Florette.  To create my rhinestone pattern, I resized a plain circle to fit just inside my Florette then applied the rhinestone tool.  Since I was adhering my rhinestones to paper I cut my template from cardstock.  I used 6ss Light Topaz rhinestones and adhered them with I-roc tool.  If you are careful you can use an iron too.  Next I cut some flowers from the Scalloped Oval Framette file.  Using a stylus, I curled my petals then assembled my flowers and added some blingy centers.  I decided to add a little green so I cut two foliage shapes found in my Funtime book.  To finish the card off, I added some ribbon and stick pins.  Patterns available at http://www.bosskutdiecuts.com/
