Easter Mini Album by Judy Stark

I like to make myself a separate book throughout the year for special occasions and holidays.  It's fun to bring out all of the previous Easter books and everyone see how much they have grown! 

I also make these for my daughter's to put their special pictures into.  This books' base completed size is

 5" by 7" and you can easily add more pages if needed.

 

 

For the bottom of the front page, I used the newly released scallop card border and Bosskut Tulips   by Oliver Myers . Tulips can be found under the flowers section at http://www.bosskutdiecuts.com/  For my title, I used a font in our Funtime, used the outline feature and cut with my Gazelle. Anytime you are using a font that is too skinny, you can also click the outline feature button and substitute the outline.

 

 

I used the basket from the Bosskut file: Easter Basket, Bunny and Eggs.  I cut the eggs and decorated and hide them in the Popkut grass. To make the front page of my mini album, I used the BK silhouette bunny by Karen Taglia and adjusted the size accordingly to appear the bunny is sitting on top of my egg basket. Easter Treat Bags by Judy

                                                                                 
With Easter being next month, I thought I best get busy making bags for my family.  I usually fill these with Easter grass, then add a few plastic eggs and the candy. These are also great for gift giving!

 I first cut using my Bosskut Gazelle, my bag pattern and extended the size to cut 12" by 12".  The finished bag size ends up being 7 inches tall by 4 inches wide. I then measured and cut the newly released Tulip Doily, PopKut Border grass and Froggie the PK Frog. All available for purchase at http://www.bosskutdiecuts.com/   I then used my Bosskut Gazelle pen feature and wrote the title on the egg.  I cut and hid some eggs in the grass and done!  Very easy and quick project to do.
                                                                                                                                             

 I made this bag the same as above but used the newly released Heart Swirls Frame, PopKut Border Grass and the Bosskut BunnySilhouette by Karen Taglia.

So excited to finally have my first Design Team project done for Boss Kut.  I have to say, I have had a bit of crafter's block lately.  Perfect timing, right?  LOL  Anyway, I decided on an easel card for my first project.  I was thinking something for Spring and what is better than flowers?  A tiny little baby holding a flower!

I always like to push my Gazelle to the limits and see how she does.  The entire card is only 4.5 x 4.5, so you know the little baby and flower are pretty small and my Gazelle cut it out perfectly!  It cut the scallops and swirls as smooth as butter too.

         
For the fancy frame, I used Presleys Curl.  Available along with file 0339 tinyinspiring at the Boss Kut store.  Isn't she so cute?!? Available at  http://www.bosskutdiecuts.com/

Here is a side view.  This was also my first easel card.  I wasn't really sure how I wanted to design the bottom half.  I kept it simple so it would lay flat and not ruin the top.  I also love the fact you can just stick pretty much any size pen or marker in the Gazelle.  I typed out my sentiment in the font I thought would look best, put a rectangle around it, slipped a purple gel pen in where the blade holder normally goes and let her write away.  Then I wanted to cut the rectangle, out goes the pen and in the blade holder.  Love, love, love this feature!

                                             
      
                                                               
I know, I know.  I stink at making faces.  My youngest son said she didn't look very baby-like.  Well, the more I draw the faces on the better I will get.  Forgive the lack of detail in her features.  ^__^

LOVE, LOVE this frog!!  Absolutely adorable and great for making some boys birthday cards!

I created the cut files for the cattails and lily pad using the Funtime Scrapbooking III software.  It's amazing how easy this software is to learn and the help from the great tutorials available at the Bosskut Training website make it possible to create your own cut files.

Then with the option to use ANY pen in the Gazelle, I used a green sharpie pen to "cut" out the inscription "From our pad to yours" using the font, Complex. (1 stroke engraving) available in Funtime and then cut the shape of a lily pad around it.

I then added a tongue, and google eyes to the Pop-Kut Frog BKD098.  When putting the google eyes on, I made sure to stick them to the pop-kut eyes and kept them from sticking to the rest of the frog so that they could pop out.  I put 1/16" thick 3D dots behind the frog for a little more added dimension.

So much fun and so cute!

LOVE SPRING Layout by Kenya G.

 

Hello Krafters!

Today I am sharing my very first BossKut Design Team Project! This is a layout of my little cousin Akilah. I am so ready for spring and these pictures of her definitely put me in the mood!

BossKut has so many beautiful files to choose from, I had a hard time deciding what to cut first! I knew I wanted to use the Fancy Florette (0367). I used several of these in different sizes throughout the layout. The negatives did not go to waste; I used them as the flower centers and the smaller pink flowers. Resourceful right? All of the larger flowers were cut from file 0389. The cutouts from the orange flowers doubled as photo corners which were sprayed pink. I just have to add, the negatives of the flowers (0389) are so small yet they cut perfectly. Can you see the detail? Impressive!  

                                                                    

For the flourishes, I used Scroll (0986). These cut beautifully on my BossKut Gazelle at a speed of 1 and force of 3. I do recommend using these settings instead of the settings recommended in Fun Time.

                                                                              

A great feature I love about the BossKut Gazelle is being able to use ANY marker or pen without any accessories! I used a Copic marker for the title. I also enjoy the flexibility of using True Type Fonts from my computer.

Valentine Bag for a Boy

Valentine's Day is coming soon and I am making some bags for my grandchildren to take to school.  This is a very easy and fast project that is sure to put a smile on your grandchildren's faces!  I started with a premade bag I bought at my LSS.  I cut with my Gazelle, a bottom border, hearts and the newly released  Bosskut PopKut Love Bugs. DIY Valentines by Katie P.

Is it just me or have DIY projects soared over the last year?  With places like Etsy and Pinterest there's plenty of inspiration.  I saw some cute printable Valentine's and thought, I can do that.  And with the help of my Gazelle, it was super easy to do!

I started by sizing my tag and creating the sentiment using the text function.  I placed the sentiment where I wanted it on the tag then changed the colors of the two items.  After inserting my paper into my Gazelle, I took out the blade housing and put in a glitter pen.  By multiplying the design then cutting by color, I was able to do all my text then replace the blade and cut the tags with ease.  Next I cut the bird peices and assembled them all.  To finish it off, I added a googly eye to the bird and some twine for the top of the tag.  I left the back open so Shelby can sign it for her friends.

 

All the functions of the Gazelle make creating mass projects super simple!

Mini Treat Bag by Katie P.

      

Sometimes, we find ourselves needing a really quick project.  Sometimes, we might want to give something other than a card.  Mini treat bags are great little gifts and you can stuff them with whatever your recipient would like.  Here's one I whipped up for my ladybug lovin' daughter...

 

I grabbed a mini paper bag from Canvas Corp (but you could easily cut one with your Gazelle too!).  Next, I sized the new Card Band so that it would completely wrap my bag and cut it.  Then, I sized and cut the new Pop Kut Love Bug pieces.  I adhered the band then added a bit of bling under the ladybug.  I finished it off with some alpha stickers.  Here's a closer view of the pop kut wings...

 

                                                                   

                     

Now, I can tuck some little treats in her bag and add it to her backpack or lunch box with a little note.  That's sure to make anyone's day!  Oh, here's a thought...have an older child?  Add a bit of magnet to the back of the bag and stick it inside their locker at school!  Fun huh?!
