Friendly Ghosts Using Press'n Seal by Jamie G.

Files Used: Ghost Pumpkin 0498
Materials: Glad Press'n Seal

Back again with another Boss Kut Die Cut inspired and Pinterest twist project!! I've been looking for that one project where I can attempt a project that is larger than my mat size. So, following Terri's incredible training video I "cut" up the adorable ghost from the Ghost Pumpkin 0498. I just love the smile on his face and friendly feel he brings to the house!

The for the "ghostly" effect, I used Glad Press'n Seal. To keep the number of cuts down, I used the 12 x 24 mat. The large ghost in the door wall is 41.15 inches high. This ghost is in 5 different pieces and you can obviously tell that I didn't use the whole ghost.

Note: When putting the press'n seal on the mat only press down enough to make it stick to the mat. Too much and it will cause problems removing it after you've made your cut. Also, when you put the press'n seal on your window or glass, do NOT press it down. The static cling, will keep it against the surface as you position it where you want it. Then in places where it is curling up, use 1 or 2 fingers and press down there. Pressing the whole cut will make it wrinkle and when you take it down, there's A LOT more clean up.

The ghost on the mirror is 18.75 inches high. I used the 12 x 24 mat again so that I could cut him out in one piece. Well, I guess it's technically 2 but that's just how the cut file is made. :o)

I still can't get over how adorably cut this ghost is!! My children love it and it makes Halloween less scary for the younger ones.  It's an incredibly easy project that can spruce up your home for Halloween!

Turkey Front with Title by Judy S

I needed a Fall Layout for a large bulletin board and the newly released Turkey was perfect!  I made this for a friend and she will add other items to the board.  Cutting this Turkey file with my Bosskut Gazelle only took a few minutes.  I chalked out the cutting lines on my turkey with a marker.  Chalked out the mats with regular chalk.  Turkey is 7.5 wide by 8.5 tall.  I then cut the Bosskut oak leaves and added to the bottom.  I also colored the cutting lines with a marker and then added 1 application of the liquid embossing.

To make my title, I used my Bosskut Funtime program.   After deciding on which font I wanted, I then used my outline feature to make the mat.  Just a push of a button!

After chalking the mat, I added the Bosskut Curly Scrolls by Phyllis Parkins and an Oak leaf.

Pumpkin TeaPot Card and Tea Bag Gift Box by Jamie G

Pumpkin TeaPot Card and Tea Bag Gift Box by Jamie G

Files Used: Pumpkin Teapot by Judy Stark BKD145, Presleys Curls by Judy Stark BKD101
Materials: Cardstock, pearl brads, ribbon

When the Pumpkin Teapot by Judy Stark BKD145 was released by BossKut I was so excited to be able to use this adorable cut file!!

For the card I started by cutting out the layers and rounding out the edges in Funtime. I didn't want to take away from the adorable teapot, so I kept it simple. I added some clear stickles to the eyes, nose, and mouth for a little more added dimension.

I added the sentiment "Take time for Tea" to Presleys Curls by Judy Stark BKD101 and used the print and cut feature to print the sentiment out with my printer. Then using stickles, I added some glitter to the curls. With a green ribbon, I threaded it through the top and bottom of the cut file to attach it to the card.

The tea bag gift box took a little more time while working with Funtime. I first had to create the bottom of the box but with the help from the training videos available through BossKut I was easily able to create it. Then I took the border of the teapot and copied it so that I had 2 (this will create the front and the back of the gift box. With the welding tool in Funtime, I attached one of the teapots to each side of the bottom of the box I created and welded them all together. I added some kiss cut lines to where I wanted the gift box to fold and voila!! My gift box is completed and now all I had to do was decorate it.

After cutting out the teapot and the lid, I added a small piece of yellow paper behind the eyes, nose, and mouth. Then I added some clear stickles to the eyes, nose, and mouth to give it some more dimension. The green ribbon at the top holds the gift box together until you're ready for some tea!!

Halloween Banner by Judy S

The Halloween Banner series are now available for purchase at www.bosskutdiecuts.com

I made these using heavyweight cardstock, ribbons, chalk and added a few rhinestones. The banner pieces above are 11 inches in width each and 3 designs will make a nice size banner. Perfect to hang over an average 36" size window.  Average time per banner was around 30 minutes, even with a 6 year old helping me!

This banner comes with the die cut pieces needed to add to the shoes.  I added bows and rhinestones. I added rhinestones to the with hat trim and quickly chalked the broom for more dimension.  I pulled the main cord down so you can see what I used.
These diecuts can also be used for card overlays, cut with vinyl for party accessories
or on your windows for decoration.

Check out the Bosskut home site for supplies www.bosskut.com  and www.bosskutdiecuts.com for digital cut designs.

The Bosskut Gazelle is now assembled in the USA in Rolla,Mo.

Thinking of You Swing card by Jamie G

Files Used: O'Hannah Oval Frame Set by Judy Stark BKD129
Materials: Cardstock, pearl heart brads, purple rhinestones

Here a simple step card that I made to send to one very special lady in my life. I started by creating a 4.25 x 5.5" step card in Funtime. I've made this file available in the Gazelle Owner's Forum under *File Sharing*.

For the bottom border, I had to weld a few more the decorative pieces together to get it long enough. After attaching it to the card, I added some purple rhinestones.

I added the sentiment to the oval frame and used a couple of pearl heart brads to secure it to the card.

Candy Cauldron by Jamie G

Files Used: Corner End Spider Web Banner by Judy Stark, Happy Halloween Banner by Judy Stark BKD132, Ghost Banner by Judy Stark BKD135

Materials: Black plastic cauldron (I purchased mine at Jo-Ann's), vinyl, ribbon, ¼ " high tack X-Press it double sided tape

Have you ever noticed as a crafter you can't look at something plain without a ton of ideas on how to make it prettier?! Something I may have passed up before, with my Gazelle I look at everything and see endless possibilities.

After seeing this plain black cauldron I just knew I needed a new candy dish. Why, I'm not entirely sure because we live in the middle of nowhere down a private drive . . . we never have any trick-or-treaters. So I sweetly suggested to my husband that we fill the candy dish to the top and whatever we have left over after Halloween we'll just keep. For some reason he just laughed at me!! I get that A LOT though.

I started out by cutting the Corner End Spider Web Banner by Judy Stark, Happy Halloween Banner by Judy Stark BKD132, and Ghost Banner by Judy Stark BKD135 in white vinyl (each was sized to 2 ½ inches high).

With the Corner End Spider Web Banner by Judy Stark, I ended up cutting out an extra spider in purple so that I could add some color.

For the Ghost Banner by Judy Stark BKD135 I cut out the "Boo" in orange and layered it over the white vinyl.

To add the ribbon on the top, I used ¼" high tack X-Press It double sided tape.

I cut out various size circles in purple, orange, and white vinyl to add around the top of the cauldron. There was no pattern, I just removed each of the circles from the vinyl backing and placed it where ever the mood struck me.

Now I just need to get to the store to purchase the candy to fill this lonely cauldron. ;o)

O'Hannah Wedding Card by Kenya

Hello Everyone,

It’s Kenya here to share a simple card using the O’Hannah Oval Frame Set! If you have not checked out the O’Hannah Collection, I encourage you to pop over to BossKut and give them a looks see! They are awesome!
I cut the shadow on a piece of chipboard to use as a blackout (deep cut blade, force of 5 and speed of 2). I wanted to emboss and stamp without all of the layering. As you can see, the shape in the middle did not emboss. I stamped my sentiment in the blank space.

I used the O’Hannah Frame detailed cut as a ribbon slider. This adds a little splash of elegance to the card. To this, I added two different sized pearls and that is it!

I hope you try out embossing with a blackout shape; you can use positive and negative to give your card a different look  J Please stop by BossKut to check out the O’Hannah Collection!

 Thanks for stopping by, Kenya~

Etched Drinking Glasses by Jamie Gillahan

Materials: Drinking glass, etching cream, vinyl
The one thing crafters learn is that as family and friends learn of their ability, the requests we get to make things for others increases! I LOVE IT!! At times it's a way to go in directions that we wouldn't otherwise venture and others it's an idea for a gift that we know someone might love.
Then there's the website Pinterest, where there are ideas a plenty. A cousin of mine provided me with a picture of this etched glass and asked if it was something I could do. With a huge smile on my face all I could say was, with my Gazelle I can do anything!! Of course I told her that I could and made a trip to the store to find some glasses that would work.
The glasses that I found only came in a pack of 4, so I suggested adding the phrase to 2 of them and a skull and cross bones to the other 2. While it may be a little early still, these would be great for a Halloween party!! Add a little homemade dry ice rootbeer, also found on Pinterest, and you are all set!!

For the phrase "You have just been poisoned" I used the font Helvetica Medium available in the Funtime software. After making sure to use the weed and mirror option available in the cut menu, I cut it out on vinyl, and positioned it centered on the bottom of the glass. There were some minor imperfections on the bottom of the glass so I had to make sure that I removed ALL the air bubbles between the glass and the vinyl for a secure fit.

With the Skull and Cross Bones by Olivia Myers 0901, I started by placing the bones where I wanted them on the skull and created an outline of the whole thing. With the edit tools, I cut the bones so that they weren't going across the skull and connected the ends. I did have to do the little editting so that I could get the outline cut properly from the vinyl and that's yet ANOTHER reason I love my Gazelle, Funtime, and the video tutorials! The versatility and ease of use make it fun to create projects just as you would like them.

Lemons Anyone?

Here's a couple cards that I made using a photo I took in California of my cousin's lemon trees as inspiration.

The Lemonade Pitcher-JS  file you can find in the store for sale now, and the pretty Lemon Doily by Judy Stark is a "new soon to be released" file, so keep checking.

Enjoy, thanks for dropping by.

Monarch Butterfly in Frame by Jamie

Files Used: Heart Doily by Phyllis Parkins BKD092
Materials: Shadowbox, cardstock, preserved butterfly, rhinestones

One of the things that I remember very fondly from grade school is my 3rd grade class where each student was actually given a caterpillar. We fed our caterpillars, watched them become a chrysalis, and then watched the Monarch emerge from the chrysalis. I truly believe it was that teacher that helped fuel my love of nature.

On my property we have plenty of milkweed and see many Monarchs flying around. While walking the property with my daughter (3) and son (2), I found a dead Monarch in perfect condition. I showed my babies and my daughter was immediately mesmerized. With this dead Monarch I saw a great opportunity to teach my children, hopefully fuel a love for nature, and a great crafting project!!

Once I had the butterfly at home I did some research on the internet to find out how best to preserve our butterfly so that we could display it. Since the wings wouldn't move on their own, I had to put our butterfly in the rehydration box.

After a couple of days in the rehydration box, I was able to easily move the wings without damaging them. Following the directions listed, I placed the butterfly in the position I wanted him for display and left him alone again for a few more days.
In between rehydrating and positioning the butterfly, I created the 13 x 13 layout where we would display our butterfly.

For the wording "Monarch" I used Goudy Handtooled available in Funtime. I LOVED the way this font cut out and my Gazzy cut the small cutouts in the letters out beautifully!!!

I chose the Heart Doily by Phyllis Parkins BKD092 to place the butterfly on to show my love of nature. I also added some ss-10 rhinestones for that little extra something.

The 4 Monarchs that I cut out were from this website. I simply imported them into Funtime and used the option to auto vectorize them. They turned out beautiful and just look at how well the Gazelle cut out those thin little antennas!! I added some ss-10 rhinestones to the tops of the wings and called it good.

As I assembled this project I was prompted to do additional research on the Monarch butterfly. It's amazing how much I remembered . . . after reading it all again. I learned that the Monarch that my babies and I found is a male and you can tell by what looks like dots on the bottom part of the wing. How cool is that?!

O'Hannah Thinking of You Card by Kenya

Hello Everyone,
Have you all seen the new releases?? All I can say is FABULOUS! For today’s project, I used the O’Hannah Frame  set to make this simple shape card.
This project is pretty straight forward. I copied and welded two of the shadows together. Make sure you mirror the copy or it will not line up properly when you close your card. I layered the base with a piece of purple Core’dinations. Next I layered it with the detailed cut from the O’Hannah Frame. I love how well it cut using my BossKut Gazelle!  I cut this at a speed of 3 and a force of 2. I stamped my image on a circle with Momento Ink and colored the image with my Copic Markers which can be purchased at BossKut.
To add a little dimension, I added two more butterflies and a flourish.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project! Don’t forget to pop by BossKut for more files and inspiration! Kenya~

Antique Cars Layout by Lori m.

Antique Cars Layout by Lori m

Isn’t it fun to check out things from the past?  I mean sometimes there things I remember from my younger days and then sometimes things before my times.

Antique cars, these were nothing like the cars built today.

They really were built to last, unlike today’s fiberglass cars. The size alone compared to our now compact cars still amazes me.
There was so much room inside; you could get a family of 7 or 8 in with no problem.

What would my layout be without a great file from Bosskut to finish it off?  There I found the perfect truck file which almost matched my Antique truck file. The slats on the truck bed I added, but the rest came with the file.

  Enjoy!

The Folks over at Bosskut did it again!!!

Here’s another “fabulous” coming soon project file from www.bosskutdiecuts.com, love, love, how easy this was to make.  Adorable!!!

One would think their reading my mind as I started organizing my cards and photos this week. Clever, cute, useful…..and cut to perfection in no time at all.

Bosskut, you’ve been working on over drive with these new files.

You all know me; I do love to add some bling to my projects.  Here I’ve a few golden peals, pretty ribbon, and a rub on. Not too much bling but enough to make it look pretty.

The scalloped oval was a free file I won over at the Bosskut Gazelle forum from Terri Mouw for a challenge I entered.  There are more but one showcased this “PopKut DragonFly” by Judy Stark.
                                Here’s what I used: Coming Soon…. www.bosskutdiecuts.com

2. File Folders_JS
3. Index Cards_JS

In the store now at www.bosskutdiecuts.com
4. BKD109_PK Dragon Fly-JS

Of course, all this wouldn’t be possible without the help from my “Pretty In Pink” made in the USA Gazelle from www.bosskut.com.

Well, here you have it, another quick, fun and very useful keepsake for organizing or a nice gift idea.

Enjoy and keep your eyes open, I’ve seen the other files Bosskut will soon be releasing!

Personalize Bag with Vinyl By Jamie G

Files Used: Butterfly Silhouette 0327
Materials:Heat Transfer Vinyl, SS 6 Pink Rhinestones

I LOVE working with vinyl but just couldn't bring myself to work with the heat transfer vinyl. I think that is mainly because it required bringing out my iron and I didn't want my dearest husband thinking that me ironing would become a regular thing. ;o) After making this project, I could just kick myself for waiting so long!!

My daughter received a very cute bag last year and it always bothered me it was so plain. We used it for her dance class last session and will be using it again in September when her classes start back up. I finally decided it was time to spruce it up! Here's the bag before I got a hold of it.

Using the true type font, Vivaldi, I typed out my daughter's name "Mickaela" in Funtime. When it came time to cut the vinyl, I made sure to mirror the image and used the weeding option in the cut menu. Since this was my first attempt at heat transfer vinyl, I followed these great instructions by Mrs. Boss Kut herself, Phyllis!

I followed the same instructions when I applied the Butterfly Silhouette. I will note here the importance of making sure you have a smooth surface to work with. Where I applied the butterfly there are A LOT of folds in the bag, so the butterfly and I had a bit of a disagreement. Don't you just love the learning experiences that come with learning new things in crafting!?!

With the rhinestones I followed the awesome tutorials provided by Terri on the Boss Kut Training website. Be sure to watch all 3 of them! She makes it so easy to follow and explains everything.

As always, my daughter was very grateful with new additions to her bag. I just hope that I'll be able to get her to put it down sometime between now and when dance class begins.
Now that I've jumped both feet first into heat transfer vinyl and rhinestones, I can't wait to get more projects done. I'll just have to wait until my husband is at work so that he doesn't see me with the iron out! ;o)

Photos and Memories By Lori m

Sometimes things come your way at just at the right time.  This is one of those times for me.

Coming soon…..new releases…. 1 Piece CD Holder  by Judy Stark and a whole bunch more.

Since my recent trip I’ve been editing over 500 photos from California and finally, it’s finished!.

To thank my cousin for showing me a “fabulous time”, I wanted to make her a CD Photo album of the places we traveled and with that being said this all needed special packaging.

I took the 1 Piece CD holder, enlarged it a little, added the small envelope inside for a personal note.

There’s plenty of room for photos and the CD inside. Life is grand, and Bosskutdiecuts.com is a lifesaver with fantastic files.
All the files were cut with my amazing “Pretty in Pink” Gazelle of course, the machine that missed me while I was away.
For the front of my cover to dress things up a bit, I added another “coming soon” file the Keyhole Doily Set. by Judy Stark.

Perfect addition to showcase the CD cover, not too much pizazz just enough.

The files will be available for sale this August at www.bosskutdiecuts.com.

1. 1 Piece CD Holder
2. Keyhole Doily Set

Enjoy!
