Tea Cup Easel Card by Jamie G

Files Used: Heart Doily by Phyllis Parkins BKD092, Flower Corner 0991
Materials: Cardstock, Pearl Heart Brad, 1/16 inch thick 3D-Dots

My Mother-in-Law loves her tea and I wanted to make sure to incorporate that into her Mother's Day card! Since I was unable to find a very simple tea cup to cut that I liked, I decided that it was something that I could easy create on my own in the Funtime software. Once again, referring to the wonderful training videos offered by Boss Kut I got to work.

I started with a simple oval, clicked on the manipulate elements button, and then clicked on the scissor button that cuts a straight line. I deleted the top of the oval, giving me a basic shape for the cup!

I then created a second small oval with an outline to use as the handle . I rotated the oval a bit, getting the look I wanted and then welded the larger oval to the outline of the handle oval.

After creating an easel card, I designed the layer that would be standing up around the tea cup. I welded the cup, a rectangle, and a heart shape available in Funtime. Have I even mentioned how much I LOVE Funtime and the ease of use?!?! Sure, I've made plenty of mistakes while learning to work with the editting tools BUT it's only enhanced my understanding of how things work and has made my next project that much easier!!

I decorated the tea cup with the Flower Corner 0991 and the pearl heart brad. A simple but clean design and something I'm sure that my Mother-in-Law will love!
For the label on the tea bag, I used the pen feature for the sentiment "Brewed with Love" in the Funtime font 0helvetica Medium Rhinestone. It's a font I personally like to use when using the pen feature because it thin and simple. No need for special pens for the Gazelle!! She'll take any pen you want to use. For this particular project I used a Zig Memory System 0.5 mm writer. After I removed the pen from my Gazelle, I replaced the blade holder and cut out the shape around the sentiment and attached a string with a staple.

For the base of the card, I used the Heart Doily by Phyllis Parkins BKD 092 and look how beautifully my Gazelle cut that intricate design!! Using the pen feature on my Gazelle, I wrote out "Happy Mother's Day" in the true type font, Adorable. I raised the "Happy Mother's Day" sentiment off of the card with 1/16" 3D dots.
